Aiming high for the university

On Wednesday, 22 April, sports fans from the university, city and region are called upon to climb the 261 steps of the university tower building in Kiel University's (CAU) first tower race. The university was able to obtain a strong partner for this race - the Förde Sparkasse - who will be supporting Kiel University's 350th anniversary with 35 cents per stair covered by the runners.

Competition

The tower race will take place on 22 April as from 4 pm. Those wishing to rise up for the university can either complete all 14 floors in the individual category or take part in a relay team of four and divide the distance up. Participants will be rewarded with a panorama view across Kiel and a medal. The three fastest in the men’s and ladies’ individual races, plus the team race can also look forward to fantastic prizes.

The tower race will be an experience for spectators, too: the finish of the participants will be broadcast in the foyer of the building. Furthermore, the event will be presented by Bernd Lange from university sports at the CAU, who will also be conducting the sporting management with his team.

UPDATE, March 2nd:

The tower race powered by Förde Sparkasse is fully booked. All starting positions (individual race and team race) are already taken.

Registration

You can register as from now via the university sports website. The entry fee for individuals is 3.50 € and for teams it is 10.00 €. Participation is limited to 90 individual racers and 20 teams of four.
